Town Creek OHV

Located north of Greensboro, Georgia, in the Oconee National Forest, Town Creek OHV trail system offers two one-way loops. The total mileage of the two loops is 15 miles. Trail A, (also known as Roberts Bike Camp) is a tight more advanced dirt bike only single track, While Trail B is easy and ATV-friendly. Both trails have their own parking lots respectfully. Town Creek OHV shuts down seasonally in the fall for deer season.
Workdays at Town Creek OHV trails are tentatively scheduled for the 1st Saturday of each month and meet at Loop B’s parking lot.

Davenport Mountain OHV Trails

Davenport OHV trail is a one-way approximately 6-mile loop that snakes around Lake Nottely, in Blairsville, Georgia. Davenport OHV offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains and includes moderate elevation changes. This trail loop is suitable for dirt bikes, and ATVs under 50” wide.
Workdays at Davenport Mountain OHV Trails are tentatively scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Whissenhunt OHV Trail System

Whissenhunt OHV Trail System offers 11.2 miles of trails. Now, recently improved thanks to GARTRA’s efforts, most trails are safer one-way trails. Located north of Dahlonega, Georgia this trail system offers narrow switchbacks with intermediate elevation changes over the occasional loose rock mixed with red clay. Trail usage is suitable for ATVs and dirt bikes under 50”. GARTRA work days are tentatively scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Oakey Mountain OHV Trails

Oakey Mountain OHV Trails is Georgia’s most challenging OHV to ride. Located near Clarksville, Georgia Oakey Mountain features two-way trails, filled with challenging steep rocky hill climbs and diverse elevation changes. Trail usage is suitable for ATVs and dirt bikes under 50 inches.
Workdays are scheduled for the last Saturday of every month. Oakey Mountain OHV Trails workdays are held in the North Parking lot, close to the recently improved day campground, improved with The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative grant.

Houston Valley OHV Trails

Houston Valley OHV is the largest system of public trails in Georgia. Located just west of Dalton, Georgia, 25 miles of two-way trails offers easy to moderate challenges. The parking lot is paved with plenty of room for parking. Width restriction of 50 inches for ATVs.
Workdays are tentatively scheduled for the last Saturday of each month.

Windy Gap, Milma Creek, and Tibbs OHV Trails

Located near Chatsworth, Georgia the scenic Windy Gap OHV trail system has something for everyone. Windy Gap trail above Milma Creek is an extremely challenging dirt bike-only trail, featuring large rocks, that climbs upwards towards Georgia’s highest lake, Lake Consauga. Milma to Tibbs is easy to moderate and ATV-friendly with scenic waterfalls and rock crossings. There is a width restriction of 50 inches for ATVs.

RTP Matching Hours: The Recreational Trails Program grant monies are what the USFS applies for to get funding for work and big projects at each of the public OHV riding areas we maintain.
Earn an OHV pass: GARTRA volunteers that log 20 or more hours are eligible for The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest Annual OHV Pass.
Free Food: GARTRA provides lunch for all volunteers on most workdays
